Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Older Persons Grant, you must meet the following criteria:

Be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee
Be 60 years of age or older
Not be cared for in a state institution
Not receive any other social grant for yourself
Pass the means test (income and asset assessment)
Have a valid South African ID document
